National Space Day 2026 was observed on 23 August 2026 by the Department of Physics, Murkong Selek College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the MS College Science Forum through online mode.
The programme featured Dr. Binita Pathak, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Dibrugarh University, as the invited resource person. She delivered an engaging and informative lecture titled “Scope for Innovation, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, and Career Advancement in Space and Climate Sciences.”
The programme was convened by Dr. Arup Kar and hosted by Dr. Rituparna Hazarika, with Dr. Jnanraj Borah serving as the Coordinator. The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which students and faculty members actively participated and interacted with the resource person.
The discussion provided the participants with valuable insights into emerging opportunities in space and climate sciences, the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, and the potential for innovation and career development in these rapidly evolving fields.
The programme concluded successfully with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Arup Kar. The event fostered greater awareness and interest among the participants in space science, climate science, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research.
