Diploma Courses

Murkong Selek College proposes to introduce the Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from the academic session 2026-27 under the guidelines of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. The programme is designed to impart fundamental knowledge and practical skills in computer applications, including office automation, internet usage, and basic programming.

As per NIELIT norms, the course will include theory, practical training, and project work to enhance digital literacy and employability, preparing students for entry-level positions in the IT and office sectors.

Distance Courses

Murkong Selek College offers distance education programmes for Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees under the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Dibrugarh University and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU).

The initiative aims to provide flexible and accessible higher education opportunities to students, particularly those unable to pursue regular courses, in accordance with the guidelines of the respective universities. The programmes support academic advancement, skill development, and improved employability through a learner-centric approach.

Degree Admission (FYUGP - NEP 2020)

Admissions for BA/BSc under Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) are conducted via the SAMARTH Portal. Registration for students seeking admission into Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes and Five-Year Integrated Master's Programmes for the academic year 2026-27 shall commence from 4:00 PM on 11th April, 2026 onwards through the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal: SAMARTH Admission Portal.

Courses of Study for B.A./B.Sc. Programme

Being an affiliated college of Dibrugarh University, Murkong Selek College follows the Dibrugarh University regulations of BA/B.Sc programme of eight semester degree course for four year duration. The FYUGP leads to UG Certificate, UG Diploma, Three Year Degree, Four Year UG Degree (Honours), and Four Year UG Degree (Honours with Research).

• Arts Major: Assamese, Bodo, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology
• Science Major: Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology
• Minor: Any one subject other than Major subject
• GEC: Any one subject other than Major and Minor subjects

Important Rules & Conditions

• Admission is strictly based on merit and reservation.
• Original documents must be produced at verification.
• Admission may be cancelled for false information.
• Fee payment must be completed within deadline.
• Students cannot hold multiple seats simultaneously.
• Students must maintain at least 85% attendance in class.
